Ismail presents you with a world-class plastic products known as cover blocks(Chair Type,Circular Type, Locking Type)used in place of Concrete Cover Block(In RCC Construction) These blocks not only help to keep the reinforcementbars at the specifid place,they also offer convenience of use.Color blocks is available in various sizes, and avoid the time consuming procedure of casting plain cement Concrete Cover Blocks.
The sizes of cover are always accurate as it is made in factory where moulds have already been designed with higher accuracy and the final PVC/HDPE blocks are made in injection molding machine. In comparison to conventional type of covers the strength of PVC/HDPE cover block are much more higher and hardly gets broken inside cement concrete during placing of heavy steel shutters or during uses of heavy vibrators for setting down of concrete/compaction of concrete.
Durability and Life Cycle Cost:
Cover Blocks main function is to give proper cover to reinforcement while plaving of concrete.
If cover is not properly maintained then during ageing of structure, concrete chips off.
If cover is not proper during the time on concreting, reinforcement is exposed as atmosphere, which leads to corrosion of reinforcement and hence weakening and finally collapse of any concrete structure. In most of the cases the important of cover is not taken into consideration while concreting and after ageing it can be seen as a reason of failure of structure.
Also one of the prime reason for not maintaining proper cover is because during placing of reinforcement and shuttering material and vibration for setting concrete heavy loads come on Cover Block due to which approx. 10% to 15% conventional cover blocks gets broken inside and which finally leads to improper cover
Also conventional Cover Blocks are not dimensionally accurate.
